The Forest elephant lives in Central and West Africa in dense lowland jungle (Macdonald 2010). However, unlike its relatives that display curvy tusks, the tusks of African Forest Elephants are straight and long in order to help the animal move conveniently through the dense undergrowth of its habitat. The male African Forest Elephant can reach a height of 2.5 meters (8 ft) whereas the average height of females is 2 meter (6.6 ft). They will make habitats in lowland tropical rainforests.
